Florida Gulf Coast University broke ground on its nearly 26,000 square foot Emergent Technologies Institute in 2015.  The more than $12 million dollar LEED certified facility is situated within the Alico ITEC Park's property and houses programs for the university's U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering, and also serves as an incubator for its students' entrepreneurial efforts.  The ETI boasts two innovation labs, three private offices, prototyping and business planning equipment, and students are encouraged to bring any potential partners. There's state-of-the-art equipment for all students to take advantage of, including 3D printers, DLSR camera and video recording equipment, 3D and prototyping software, graphics software, sewing equipment, and more.  FGCU serves as a considerable neighbor to the Alico ITEC Park's resident businesses, leading the way with the school's own eco-conscious efforts that the park has adopted.  Businesses in the park with interest in offering internships to students may inquire with FGCU's staff, or drop us an email and we'll be happy to get you in touch with the university.
